After Anesthesia and Surgery

  • It is absolutely normal to feel a little groggy after surgery
  • On the contrary, some patients will feel very well and refreshed following surgery—in this circumstance, Dr. Hui strongly urges you to sit and relax as much as possible
  • If normal activity is initiated too early, you will not recover as quickly
  • No smoking at least 12 hours before surgery. Ideally, cut down or stop smoking as soon as possible prior to the day of surgery.
  • The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
